The formula

Pace = total time / distance. Speed (km/h) = distance / hours.

Working out your pace

Divide your finish time by the distance. A 5K in 25 minutes is 25 / 5 = 5:00 per kilometre, which is about 8:03 per mile.

Using it for training

What is pace and how is it different from speed?

Pace is the time it takes to cover a distance, such as minutes per kilometre. Speed is distance over time, such as kilometres per hour. Runners tend to use pace.

Can I rely on this result as medical advice?
