The formula
Time left = target date and time - now.
How to use it
Enter the date and, if it matters, a time. The countdown uses your device's clock and time zone, so it matches what you see on your own screen.
What it shows

- The same period in weeks and in total hours
- The weekday the date falls on

What if the date is in the past?
We show the time since it happened instead.
Does it take leap years into account?
Yes. Calculations use real calendar dates, including leap days and the different lengths of months.
Is what I enter in this calculator saved or sent anywhere?
No. The calculation runs in your browser, so what you enter is not sent to our servers. We only count, anonymously, whether a tool ran successfully.
Is this calculator free to use?
Yes. It is free, needs no sign-up and has no usage limit.
